Tak Nak Arak!

After trying to get Malaysians to stop smoking (but failed), the Health Ministry now wants to discourage them from consuming alcohol. Saying “No” to booze is the latest component to be included in the ministry’s healthy lifestyle campaign, said Minister Datuk Dr Chua Soi Lek.

Please study why people turn to alcohol in the first place… alcoholism is not the problem. It is an indication of other problems like stress, depression, bad influence, etc.

Another thing, I do not know why Dr Chua bothered to bring up the issue of road accidents here. I mean there are morons are perfectly sober and wide awake but they are the ones who cause majority of the accidents. Of course, Dr Chua was fast enough to say “we have not come up with the figures as yet,”

Fine if we are looking at the World Health Organisation report last year where it was stated as alcohol consumption was identified as contributing to disease, injury, disability and premature death more than any other risk factor in developing countries with low mortality. Yes but this is worldwide. What about Malaysia alone?

Try eradicating poverty & have consulting on stress & depression especially to the group of people who consumes alcohol (not as social drinkers) for a change and you will find more people saying “Tak Nak Arak” in a big way.

E-mail soon for Perak newborns

Soon, newborns in Perak will not only be given birth certificates, but also e-mail addresses. In what could probably be the first such plan in the country, the state will embark on an E-mail 4 All project under its information communications technology (ICT) blueprint.

The question is what is the point of having emails if you don’t the right infrastructure and the age to use one?

“The move will push parents into the ICT age because they will have to learn how to use the e-mail for their newborns”

Come one…not all parents are as dumb as what one thinks. My son was born in Perak and he does not to have an email to get me and my wife going (into the ICT age). It is a clear cut that someone somewhere in the Perak State Government has proposed this as another waste of rakyat’s money. Who is going to maintain the infrastructure / servers for all this emails? Unless the State Govt is thinking of using Hotmail or Yahoo address, the maintenance is going to be very high

You can have all the column for an e-mail address for easy communication but if the addressee does not bother to reply your email…you can kiss the project goodbye (probably after couple of millions spend on the doomed project)

Ahh! Cockroach Attack!

What a way to start the month….

I was at my local sundry shop buying my RM1.00 nasi lemak for breakfast when I caught sight of a very large cockroach running around on the floor. I started to panic when it headed towards me. Quietly I moved from it’s line of “sight”. I do not want to be caught jumping and screaming.

I took my eyes off for a moment when I was paying for my nasi lemak. I looked around for the cockroach and it was gone. Gone! Now I was really worried. I looked around my pants, hoping it is not on me. I then realised it was on a lady’s pants (she hopped in for a sandwich). Before I could warn her, she went out and drove away with the cockroach still clinging onto her pants.

Now just imagine if the cockroach decides to go inside her pants whilst she was driving. I dare not think about it.
