Now isn’t this seems too obvious?

.
This is not exactly like the question of why did the chicken cross the road but when I reading The Star today, I asked myself the question: Why did Pak Lah was overcome with emotion when tabling the Ninth Malaysia Plan?I also looked at the “goody-goody” reactions from UMNO, MCA and MIC. It caused me to have diarrhea on a Saturday morning. Look at these comments.

UMNO: “HAVE a thirst for knowledge and be innovative and creative. These are the traits that Malaysians must have to lead the country to success, said Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

MCA: Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting said the 9MP would prepare the country and the people to be more competitive in facing globalization.

MIC: Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu commended the Prime Minister for coming out with a “comprehensive and visionary plan” to achieve better economic growth and distribution of wealth as well as to improve the quality of life of all Malaysians.

Sounds like 9MP is a good plan for everyone but hold on, I can see some alien words being mentioned here and there. I mean real alien words coming from the mouth of Malaysian Politicians. Can you see them too? They are:-

Knowledge
Innovative
Creative
Globalization
Distribution of wealth
All Malaysians

When all these words became the sole guidance to our Government? As Brendan Pereira of NST once said, it is akin to confetti, thrown in the air when the need arises. I am not surprised.

Whilst I am cranking my head to understand (not that I really did), I find myself reading Jeff Ooi’s post asking how the Govt plans to fund RM200 billion for 9MP and the likely increase of national debt. One source of income is going to be EPF (no surprise there, it happens too often that we are immune to it), another is further increase of fuel price (what you are surprised?).

Probably this is why Pak Lah got emotional when delivering the 9MP plan – was he sad for those who are not in the majority, for those who was not in the elite group in politics and for those who did not have the right “connections”? Was he was sad because he probably knows that ordinary Malaysians got screwed again?

I would like to give the benefit of doubt to him and his 9MP, I really do but as he has failed us so many times, I find myself feeling déjà vu. Read Steven Gan’s commentary and tell me why I think I am not wrong.
