It has been 12 days since I landed in Kabul…
Time sure flies but when there is so much to do and very less time to do, time flies even faster. I have been too busy at work that I hardly have time to blog or read other blogs.
Kabul has been surprisingly peaceful since my last trip here except for the time when there was suicide bombing at the Kabul Airport last week. We were at the office early in the morning – whether it was at 5 or 6, I could not remember, when we heard something like a loud thunder. Our office window vibrated. We rushed out, expecting to see a smoke nearby but there was none and it was peaceful thereafter.
Then 10 – 15 minutes, we heard sirens…
Information about the “sound” was still hazy. Some said that there has been an explosion on an American troop convoy, some said it has been an accident. When we went back, we got the actual news from BBC – suicide bomber exploded bomb near NATO base near the airport. 2 died and a score been seriously injured. The airport was a good 5 -6 km away from our workplace and the explosion was loud. Must have been “heavy” stuff.
Scary but in Kabul, life goes on…
