Politics 101: The Ideal Prime Minister of Malaysia

MOU, Anwar Ibrahim, Pakatan Harapan, Unity Government Prime Minister

Kavilan tagged me a long time ago with his post titled “5 People/Groups That I’d Rather Have as the Prime Minister of Malaysia”. As I was busy with the NaNoWriMo project, I have held back from doing this post (sorry, bro). Image source: Free Malaysia Today

The 5 people/groups that I would rather have as the Prime Minister of Malaysia in no particular order are as follows:-

Anwar Ibrahim

Seriously folks, take a good look around and tell me, who is the “most capable” guy to be the Prime Minister and run the show? Certainly, it is not scandal-tainted Najib and his equally scandal-tainted wife! Anwar Ibrahim’s directions and aspirations make more sense than 100 Pak Lah. Anwar may have had misgivings earlier, but in his current form, he has been spot-on on many issues facing common Malaysians. His hard work to bring together the various opposition parties has been commendable (a sign of a good leader).

Gandalf

Gandalf is a fictional character in J.R.R. Tolkien’s novels The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. He is a wizard, one of the Istari order, who was sent to Middle-earth to fight against the evil of Sauron. He is also known as Mithrandir, Olórin, and other names in different languages.

Gandalf has a long grey beard and wears a grey cloak and a pointed blue hat. He likes to make fireworks and smoke a pipe. He has a ring of fire called Narya, which he keeps hidden. He is immortal, but his physical body can be killed. He dies fighting a Balrog, a fiery monster, in the mines of Moria, but he is resurrected as Gandalf the White, with greater power and authority. He helps to defeat Sauron and his allies in the War of the Ring and then returns to the Undying Lands with Frodo, Bilbo, and other elves.

He will make an ideal Prime Minister as he is a wise and powerful being, who can use magic and wield a sword called Glamdring. He is a friend of elves, dwarves, hobbits, and men, and the leader of the Fellowship of the Ring, a group of heroes who set out to destroy the One Ring, the source of Sauron’s power.

star trek TV vulcan Prime Minister

Compared to Spock, Tuvok would make a better Prime Minister for the country as it is only logical if you considered the rest of the candidates. Image source: Internet

The Vulcans

The Vulcans are an extraterrestrial humanoid species from the planet Vulcan, a founding member of the United Federation of Planets. They are known for their adherence to logic and reason, their suppression of emotions, and their distinctive physical features such as pointed ears, arched eyebrows, and copper-based blood.

The Vulcans have a rich and ancient history, culture, and spirituality, as well as a high level of scientific and technological advancement. They were the first alien race to make contact with humans in 2063, and have since played a vital role in the exploration and diplomacy of the Star Trek universe.

You can never go wrong with Mr Spock or Mr Tuvok as the Prime Minister in Putrajaya and if any politicians try to act funny, racist or stupid, Spock can always use his Vulcan nerve pinch on the idiots and deport them to the dark side of the moon.

Pughazhendhi

Pughazhendhi is the name of the protagonist in the Tamil movie Mudhalvan, which was released in 1999. He is a news reporter who gets a chance to interview the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and challenges him to swap roles for a day. He then becomes the acting Chief Minister and implements many reforms and policies that make him popular among the people.

He also faces threats and conspiracies from his political rivals and enemies. The movie is a political thriller directed by S. Shankar and starring Arjun Sarja, Manisha Koirala and Raghuvaran. The movie was later remade in Hindi as Nayak: The Real Hero, starring Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji and Amrish Puri.

So why him as the Prime Minister?

Because he suspends “on the spot” inefficient and corrupt government officers and goes after corrupted politicians, he did all right in Mudhalvan and will do better as the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Josiah Bartlet

Josiah Bartlet, also known as Jed, is a fictional character from the TV series The West Wing, created by Aaron Sorkin and played by Martin Sheen. He was the president of the United States for two terms, from 1999 to 2007, and a member of the Democratic Party. He is a former governor of New Hampshire, a congressman, a professor, and a Nobel Prize-winning economist.

He has a strong moral compass and a fierce intellect, but he also struggles with multiple sclerosis, which he initially conceals from the public. He is married to Dr. Abigail “Abbey” Bartlet and has three daughters: Elizabeth, Eleanor, and Zoey. He is a descendant of Josiah Bartlett, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

He would make a no-nonsense Prime Minister, not bound by any racial or religious barriers.
