(BN and Money Politics – not logical? Image source: Mob’s Crib)
Sometimes it is no wonder why our education system is in a shit hole
Just have a look at the “analysis” done by one of the supposedly learned senior lecturer – from TheNutGraph:-
The claim that the Barisan Nasional (BN is offering RM25 million to each Pakatan Rakyat state assemblyperson and member of parliament to cross over to any of its component parties is absurd, said a political scientist.
Senior lecturer of the Social Science Studies Centre, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Dr Sivamurugan Pandian said the claim, made in a statutory declaration today by a Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) division head, was illogical.
Sivamurugan said it would be better for the BN to utilise such a large sum of money on projects that would benefit the people, particularly development projects that would give an edge to the component parties, rather than buying two Pakatan Rakyat assemblypersons.
Consider this:-
- Barisan Nasional’s vast source of cash;
- How they were badly hit in the last general election;
- How well entrenched is money politics in Malaysian political cycle;
- How close Barisan Nasional is from regaining the control the state
If this is the only conclusion that a Malaysian social science studies lecturer can make, then the education system is indeed screwed. The fact that BN offered RM50 million for the politicians to cross over may not been true but it should not be regarded outright as illogical.
Either that or this Sivamurugan character is nothing more than an avenue to do damage control and divert the attention from the damaging facts spelt in the Statutory Declaration

We have many dubious ‘political scientists’ in Malaysia. I am sure many remember the ‘intelectual’ Nordin Kardi. So, what’s quoted in the paper from the mouth of these ‘intelectuals’, just read the opposite meaning. We know it too well now.
Bongkersz – ya, true – the Bolehland intellectuals are fast becoming laughing stock
