MH370: Was Air Traffic Control Deliberately Misled?

Tomorrow marks the 6th anniversary of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 (MH370) that went missing flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, China. Till today, there have been a wide range of theories and conspiracies thrown in the wind but the plane is yet to be found. Image source: Pinterest.

Last month, there was a revelation by the former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott that the disappearance of MH370 was due to a suicide by the pilot:-

Former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has said the “top levels” of the Malaysian government long suspected that the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 almost six years ago was a mass murder-suicide by the pilot.

Speaking in a Sky News documentary airing Wednesday and Thursday, Abbott said high-ranking Malaysian officials believed veteran pilot Zaharie Ahmad Shah deliberately downed the jet.

“My very clear understanding, from the very top levels of the Malaysian government, is that from very, very early on, they thought it was murder-suicide by the pilot,” said Abbott, who was Australia’s prime minister from 2013 to 2015.

Consider who is Tony Abbot – after all he is not any Tom, Dick or Harry to make such statement. He was the Prime Minister of Australia. And despite the question why he did not raise this before (when he was the PM), it is certainly this is a very serious statement.  Why the top level of Malaysian government thought that it was due to pilot’s suicide? Do they have the inside information or strong evidence?

And there is this interesting analysis by the engineers from CAPTIO (Constraints on Alternative Piloted Trajectories in the Indian Ocean) in the RAeS Brussels Branch lecture held at Eurocontrol on the topic of the MH370 Flight.

They have successfully illustrated a plausible trajectory of flight MH370 that might have taken advantage of the shortcomings in civil and military air traffic control – and the antiquated air/ground communication systems in particular.

The theory of the MH370 pilot deciding to commit suicide is nothing new.

In fact, people had talking about it within days after MH370 went missing. Some said that he wanted to make a statement that will be lasting for years. However, this is just another conspiracy theory that is in consideration among many other conspiracy theories that remains unproven.

However this revelation by CAPTIO is very interesting for 2 reasons:-

1. It is backed by solid scientific analysis with comprehensive computer modelling & simulations
2. It shows that someone is controlling the plane all the time and whoever is it, made sure that they remained hidden & undetected.

Probably this is the nail on the coffin to eliminate all other conspiracy theories and confirm that in the end, the pilot was the one who caused the death of all 239 passengers & crew. It is an interesting analysis worth to seriously consider the reason for the missing MH370.
