1Racist in 1Malaysia

Interesting story over theSun titled “A bond which is colour blind” which was a reprint of Pakatan Rakyat’s Hannah Yeoh post titled “Real 1Malaysia”.

But the thing that I wanted to point out is this (from Hannah Yeoh’s blog):-

That encounter had a lasting impression on me.

Governance 101: What is Malaysian Formula 1 Team Cost?

formula 1

(It is not cheap to run a Formula 1 team even for winning teams – Image source: Forbes)

There are pros and cons to the Government’s latest adventure into Formula 1. We thought we had a taste of Formula 1 with Petronas’ involvement and Alex Yoong in the driver’s seat but in the Malaysia Boleh spirit, we are getting ourselves one notch up in this very expensive sport

Malaysiakini reported:-

Sepang International Circuit (SIC), a joint partnership involving the government and a consortium of Malaysian entrepreneurs for the 1Malaysia Formula One Team project, has allocated between 8,000 and 12,000 hectares for the development of the Made-in-Malaysia F1 team headquarters

Then Paul Tan in his blog reported

According to SIC CEO Razlan Razali, the HQ will be fully equipped with manufacturing and development facilities including a wind-tunnel and costs could be in the millions or even billions.

Formula 1 for 1 Malaysia

After Samy Vellu and Khir Toyo, it is time for Najib to put his hands on public funds…

With this report from theStar, the multi billion PKFZ scandal may end up looking like peanuts:-

The 1Malaysia F1 Team, a joint venture between the Government and private sector, will participate in the F1 race beginning next year.

1Mob for 1Malaysia

Dust has yet to settle on the Section 23 temple relocation issue…

The police after earlier much inactivity at cow head protest (this was blamed on having a ‘junior’ officer onsite) and then later at the resident dialogue (where insults and threats of violence were uttered in public) have started to round up the protesters to be booked under the law (but whether they will be punished accordingly will be another big question)

The State Government have started to look for alternative site and found one within Section 23.…

15Malaysia

The idea of 1Malaysia may sound outdated but the ideas from 15Malaysia are simply brilliant!

One of my favourite:-

[youtube = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZ0ZxudpvNc]

15Malaysia is a short film project. It consists of 15 short films made by 15 Malaysian filmmakers. These films not only deal with socio-political issues in Malaysia, they also feature some of the best-known faces in the country, including actors, musicians and top political leaders.…

Cow Head & Racial Harmony

When I first saw the image on the net, my initial thoughts was ‘Oh God, don’t tell me that this happened in Malaysia – what these jokers are trying to prove?”

Peaceful protest is good and healthy but these guys got their methods of protest all wrong – there is no need to mess up the area with poor cow’s blood!…

An obligatory 2009 Merdeka post

(The reality of the nation these days – Image source: http://blinkstar.wordpress.com)

Merdeka or Independence Day is just couple of days away and at some places, ‘celebrations’ has been scaled down due to the H1N1 pandemic. The way I see, there is a reason to celebrate Merdeka and there is a reason not to celebrate Merdeka

The reason to celebrate Merdeka

To remember the sacrifice that our nationalists, freedom fighters and security forces did in order for our nation to gain independence and ensure that independent preserved throughout the years

The reason NOT to celebrate Merdeka

After 52 years of independence, what we have achieved?

The One Sided Threat

It is rather humorous to read a politician’s threats

(There are always 2 sides of the story and thus it justifies fairness on both sides. Image source: http://www.seattlepi.com)

Yes, the threat can be real of course – after all, they are holding all the ISA, MACC, PDRM, etc panic buttons. It is humorous because politicians are well known to be very selective in their threats.…
