North Again

Last few days since my return from my holidays up north, it has been a marathon sort of.

As usual, piles of work were waiting in my inbox for me to take up and resolve. Then I had to prepare for a discussion with some customers up North over the weekends.… [Click to read the rest] “North Again”

25 Hours

(I am getting more like this, with work overloaded and less sleep. Image source:

Seriously speaking, I need more hours in a day to complete my work and to sleep.

I am dozing off when as I typing this down. Work last few days is just overwhelming and unfortunately it is far from a stage considered as “completed”

A drive up North this weekend will do a plenty good…

The Elevator Part 2

Read Part 1 here

(This is a tough call – being trapped in the lift for 40 hours!)

I guess it was a matter of being in the wrong place (malfunctioned elevator) at the wrong time (lunch time lah).

In the crowded elevator, I stood at the side which was a blessing in disguise as I could feel the cool breeze from the elevator ventilators.… [Click to read the rest] “The Elevator Part 2”

The Elevator Part 1

Jesus. Bob, what button did you push?

(Young executive saying to his colleague after the elevator falls in the movie Speed)

(I will be “busy” in battlefields – picture source:

It’s time to fly again but hopefully it is for a shorter period than earlier trip. This year has been eventful in my travel intinerary but as usual, I am going to miss these:-

Family (who wouldn’t?)

Malaysian Food (high on the list – a good ikan bilis sambal)

Malaysian Weather (I will never complaint about the hot sweaty Malaysian sun again)

But I am not going to miss:-

Traffic Jam (not often one can ride in an army escort from the hotel to workplace)

“Clowns” in Malaysian Politics (when far away from home, I am able to “close one eyes” on the stupidity of some of our “Yang Berhormat”)

I should be blogging as usual if time permits but there will be some differences this time around (I have learned a lot the last time around).… [Click to read the rest] “Countdown…”

Wrapping Up

(Day 37 in Kabul)

6th June – seems to be the light at the end of the tunnel and hopefully it is the day to say goodbye Kabul (and fly back to Dubai) – our home for more than a month now. The work in Kabul is still on-going and some of the guys are staying on to complete it but as far as I am concerned, my work is almost completed.… [Click to read the rest] “Wrapping Up”

Working Late Again

It was Day 13 in Bangkok (read further what I meant by “was”)

I was typing this at…hold on (checking the clock at the office wall)…2.00 in the morning. There are about 10 of us here (including the security guard who looks a bit surprised at the high number of half-asleep Malaysians at this time of the hour), holed up in the office as we are preparing to cut to live the system that is being implemented.
