The current military truck with the Malaysian Armed Forces, the HICOM Handalan truck series was developed by DRB-HICOM Defence Technologies (DefTech) in collaboration with Isuzu and comes in several variants. The first variant, Handalan I, was powered by an Isuzu 6HE1 diesel engine, delivering 180 horsepower through a 5-speed manual transmission and configured for a 4×4 drive.  The third generation, Handalan III, introduced in 2012, uses Tata diesel engines with an output of 230 horsepower.
