Whenever the Government announces huge bailouts, 2 things are certain on everyone’s mind:-
ONE: It does not matter if it is cash, guarantee or promises on paper, one way or another, at the end of the day, taxpayers will be forced to bear the cost of the bailout. Taxpayers money that could have been used more productively for development of the country now goes down the drain.
TWO: Not all of the board of directors, management and senior officers who mismanaged the company will be arrested, stripped naked of their assets and sent to jail for years. At the most, some of them may be asked to tender their resignation without any punishment and some of them will be transferred to another GLC. And since there is no severe punishment given, the incompetence and mismanagement continues.
I still remember the days when I had to queue up at the bus companies counters to get my bus passes –sometimes more than one, depending on the year. KL, Klang & Port Klang Omnibus and SJ Kenderaan had their own dedicated counter for the bus passes – different colours for adults and school children (which is half of the price of the adult total fares). Toong Foong one was a bit different – you have get it from their office which was located near Puduraya where it is usually packed with bus conductors also queuing up to get their stacks of new bus tickets.
The PH Government have just announced the budget for next year – budget 2020 is a smaller budget compared to last year and seems to be in a better managed compared to a rushed one last year (when the PH Ministers were still struggling with their portfolios). Infographic source: The Star
(A notice is posted at a retail outlet in Seoul on July 12, 2019, stating that it is neither selling nor buying Japanese products. A boycott campaign of Japanese goods is spreading in response to Japan’s recent curbs on exports of key chemicals to South Korean semiconductor and display manufacturers. In recent days, this has been a hot topic on the news – there has been a campaign for Muslims to boycott products made by non Muslims (it has mellowed down to Buy Muslim Products First).
(Bullshit!!!! The Old Man’s reaction when he heard that some mysterious donors from the Middle East had donated some USD700 million (RM2.6 billion ringgit) into Najib’s personal account and the reason for the donation had been spiraling down into realms of stupidity and absurd. One way or another, I was expecting someone to pull in the Jews into the picture. Doesn’t it been the case whenever things gets screwed big time. I was right and this time they included DAP for the ride as well.
(Some things are not weird like the way people like to park their cars, it is just a result of people not taking the time and care to do the right things)
It is getting weird, it must be the insane weather, I am very sure – it has been raining cats & dogs for past weeks and yet it feels like one is sitting in a sauna at night. My daughter fared worse, despite having 2 fans and occasionally the air-conditioner switched on, she was sweating like she had just done a 10 km marathon.
Or perhaps it is something we have been drinking (or sniffing), I don’t know. Perhaps it was due to our overzealous with being the righteous one that some of us can see the end is near. Whatever the reason maybe, things are just getting weirder in this country.
(1MDB: A 42 billion time bomb that had already exploded on everyone’s face but a lot of people in this country are not aware of the blast – no thanks to a sneaky fat guy and a clueless PM. Until today, I am lost why they put billions of taxpayers money in Cayman Island unless it is meant for some shady deal. Infographic source: http://poskod.my/cheat-sheets/10-things-know-1mdb/)
Hopefully it will soften the pain that you feel deep down whenever you read Ministers’ statements in this country. I don’t know if they read their own statements before they read it aloud in public. It just reinforces the notion that we need to change the Government from the top, hopefully at least it will wake some people up and get them to use their mind before talking.… [Click to read the rest] “Toll Hike, Ha, Ha, Ha!”
(To be fair, one’s voting rights cannot be questioned by anyone but there must be a break point somewhere on how much of the abuse and wastage of taxpayer’s money that a Government that has been in power for so long can be allowed to continue. And seeing on how all that sweet talk and endless promises of cost reduction during the election campaign simply disappeared within months from the election, hopefully people had wise up and will take things with a pinch of salt in the next election?… [Click to read the rest] “Taxpayer’s Money: More Outraged "Goodies" in 2014”
Barely 5 years after the election, all the sweet talk and endless promises of reducing the toll are quickly forgotten and it was back to business as usual. Image source: Omak Kau & Malaysian Insider
One need to be careful of the sweet talk before the elections – one good proof that one should never trust politicians who had become whiter than white, holier than the holiest man around when elections are around the corner.
