Parliament 101: Searching For Good Malaysian MPs These Days

parliament MPs

It’s tough to be a good MP these days. The real good ones are either in the or in the “wilderness” after being suspended. Others are quietly sitting down in the corner and have decided to play safe. Image source: the Net

Driving Skills 101: Always Look Left, Right and Back Too

(Not looking at the road is also due to some morons distracted with their phones)

Aaarrrgghhhh I don’t understand how some people are ! They have eyes that are positioned like their car headlights – they can only look front.

Learning is more fun these days

Talk about evolution! In case you have not realized it, learning has become more fun these days

In the beginning, there were just books. Some were real boring books. Others were books with limited information (you need to buy the entire series to understand the whole story). How well a book was read was all depended on how well the book was written and how strong the reader’s imagination was.… [Click to read the rest] “Learning is more fun these days”

Indian Cinema 101: Seriously Funny Tamil Court Drama Scenes

A courtroom drama worth watching over and over again – “A Few Good Men” (photo source: www.amctheatres.com)

If you want to see a good courtroom drama, the last place you will be looking for it is in a Tamil movie.

Forget about expecting a realistic & legalistic scene, the outcome is usually is predictable and the hero (don’t mind if he has killed 30 people in cold blood) often gets scot-free in the end. Hearsays are often admitted as crucial evidence (witnesses often played by the Gurkha, gardener or the maid). Often courtroom scene is added in to bridge the loose & weak subplots in the movie.

This is getting serious!

* The temple that was slated for demolishment in Shah Alam (Picture Source: www.policewatchmalaysia.com). The history of the temple is here

At first I thought that only we Hindus got screwed. Then running through other websites reveals that we were not alone.

The Malaysian Bar Council reported 2 other incidents involving a Buddhist temple and a Church (both got reported in the mainstream media as well).… [Click to read the rest] “This is getting serious!”

Trip Of The Year 2006: The Trip To The Cool Highlands – The Conclusion

genting highland trip 2006 breakfast

(Breakfast was organised for this trip but when we went over for our turn, there were plenty of hungry crowd at the restaurant)

Heavy drinking the night of this trip before only means one thing or rather 2 things the next morning – I am going to be very hungry when I wake up and I am going to have a slight headache.

So, when the alarm rang at 8.00 am the next morning, I did not even bother to switch the alarm off. However, somehow I knew that I need to force myself up if we want to make it for breakfast which by the way closes at 10.30 am.

This is unexpected…

All it takes is itchy hands and curious mind to screw up things…

The Internet Explorer 7 sounded like something I wanted to test out this morning. I downloaded it, installed, got some errors and restarted the PC several times but in the end it did not work.

So, I uninstalled it and somehow I ended up screwing my Windows XP registry as well (learning the lessons the hard way).… [Click to read the rest] “This is unexpected…”

Demolition of Hindu Temple

I find this very disturbing…

There are no details on why MBSA wants to demolish a 100 year old temple or whether inadequate compensation was offered for the land but the news is disturbing.

In part of Puchong where I am staying, there are 3 temples within close proximity – one opposite IOI Mall (at the end), the one next to Tamil School and another near Tractor bend.… [Click to read the rest] “Demolition of Hindu Temple”

Trip Of The Year 2006: The Trip To The Cool Highlands – Part 2

genting highland trip 2006

(The “calm before the storm” when we were early to the highland’s banquet hall)

Considering we are at the highlands, it was cold when I woke at 5.00 pm. It was cold when I stepped on the cold & hard bathroom tiles. It was pure hell when the cold freaking water hit me when I turned on the shower. It was like taking a shower with ice cubes.

It took sometime before I managed to balance the cold & hot water but by then the “damage” has been done. I was shivering as I came out of the shower.

Trip Of The Year 2006: The Trip To The Cool Highlands – Part 1

genting highland trip 2006

(The view from the bus during the trip to the highland – there was less traffic on the highway and the travelling was slow but smooth. There was a pirated movie shown whilst we were travelling – it was terrible, we heard people laughing whenever something funny was shown in the movie)

Gosh, it has been some time since my last trip to .
