(Not everyone can be the PM – very, very hard at “work” overseas in 2014. Some had said that there is nothing wrong for a leader to take a break. Well, that is correct but not when the country is seeing one of the worst floods around. The big mamma still on holiday, its so seems – no one had seen her wading through the high water in downtown Kota Bahru. Image source)
(Never mind the movie, it seems like there are way too many of dumb people in this country. Image source: The Net)
It was rather “funny” to hear the old man to say this:-
“Malaysians are stupid. They don’t know how to manage aviation,” Dr Mahathir was quoted by news portal Malaysiakini as saying in comments over Christoph Mueller’s appointment as chief executive officer-designate of Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAS NewCo).
Those responsible for the losses of the ailing national carrier were now trying to make things right, he said.
The time has come for the nation to think big, really really big and not indulge in petty, idiotic things that touches on religion and race… [Click to read the rest] “Direction of a Nation Part 3”
Sometimes when you see what happens around the world and see how much mankind have moved forward since, since I don’t know – perhaps since he climbed down from the trees and learned to walk on his own 2 feet hundred thousands of years ago, you get this amazing, proud happy feeling.
(No matter where you are right now, no matter how old you are, I am sure you always have your favorite old songs by these dynamic duo that you don’t mind humming the whole day long. Image source: Silverscreen India)
Despite “starting off” with the music of Illayaraja and later discovering the new age music of A R Rahman and then Yuvan Shankar Raja, Harris and all the new music directors, I always had soft spot for the music from the 1960s and 1970s in particular songs composed by MS Viswanathan – Ramamoorthy (MSV) and penned by the great poet Kannadasan (I also liked songs composed by KV Mahadevan and AM Raja).
(Some snippets for this week. Hello friend, feeling jet-lag ah? This what happens if you fly too many times on tax payers money and do most of your “work” from overseas and leaves the country to run on auto pilot. Image The Net)
The post was originally slated to be posted last week (or was it the week before that? I can’t recall) but after half way through drafting it, I fell asleep. By the time, I had time to complete my draft, I had other thoughts and decided to start fresh again. You see, I am away on another assignment and the vicious cycle had started all over again.
(Are these politicians qualify as suitable candidates for winning the elections? Image source: http://malaysiaflipflop.blogspot.hk)
I have been away from the country on work assignment but hardly a day passes by without me checking into the latest happenings in the country.
Criminal gangs have now turned to grenades for turf war in Bukit Bintang and at least 1 innocent person have been killed. A politician who earns more than RM21,000 comes around and says that as a Member of Parliament, he had to make do with insufficient money (he had to “ikat perut“) and even complained that MPs in Uganda are paid twice and this comment came after Najib decided to reduce the petrol subsidies causes the petrol price to go up 20 cents.
(The first night of the protest in Hong Kong was bad with tear gas & pepper spray on the protestors and this prompted greater support for the rally but it is not something new here. Image source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk)
Well thing for sure, my trip this time has been screwed up big time and need to be rescheduled. There’s plenty of work that needs to be done and the last thing I need now is for a prolonged public protest and plenty of uncertainty.
In the last one week ago, I got 5 notification of missing children (of various ages) and 5 in a week was very disturbing.
As a parent, it is very unsettling news and I can understand the agony of the parents of the missing kids. Some of the kids who were reported missing are very young, very much in the age of my daughter:-
(They are just 3 and 5 years old and too young to defend themselves.… [Click to read the rest] “Beware! Missing Children”
