Childhood Memories: Part 16 – Great Groovy 1980s Music

I don’t why but I recall the good old 80’s as I sat in front of the laptop doing work and listening to A-Ha’s “Take on me”. That song and other songs in my collection bring back a sense of déjà-vu.

Fantastic Trip to Iran 2009: Sorry, No Alcoholic Beers Here

beer non alcohol iran

(It looks like beer, it smells like beer and the people are drinking as it is beer but certainly it is not beer. Great stuff from Holland!)

Iran, I guess is the second country that I have been to without any drop of cold beer. Brunei was the other country although I could have brought a crate of beer after declaring to the customs. Interestingly there are plenty of non-alcoholic drinks from local and European breweries to choose from here.

NaNoWriMo 2009: Nearing 50,000 Words Closure

NaNoWriMo Words Writing Blogging

(There is a strange feeling when one is reaching the 50,000 words mark participating in the NaNoWriMo month. Image source: www.artslink.wordpress.com)

I am sorry for not writing very regularly for the blog.

It is just that I have been busy with work and during the night and on the weekends, I have been “burning the midnight oil” on my novel for the NaNoWriMo 2009.… [Click to read the rest] “NaNoWriMo 2009: Nearing 50,000 Words Closure”

Fantastic Trip to Iran 2009: Trip to ‘Chilly’ Restaurant

Chinese restaurant tanglung

(One good sign that it is a Chinese restaurant is red lights and tang-lungs on the inside and on the outside. By the way, Chilly in Iran means Chinese)

From day 1 after we had arrived here, we have been looking for a cheap Chinese restaurant and thus far, we have been unsuccessful.

In my earlier post on 2012, it was stated that the Hindus believed that there will be a golden year within Kali Yuga. But what is Kali Yuga anyway? Image source: Innerpath

Fantastic Trip to Iran 2009: Time To Be A DIY Chef Part 2

chef food iran

(Another item on the chef’s list is a cooked chicken cocktail with fried eggs and a good dose of Maggi sauce – not healthy, I know but who cares?)

Lately, we have been finding harder to get by without having a good dose of vegetables – going for the ‘big job’ has not been as smooth as it used to be.

Law 101: Do We Accept Morally Wrong, Legally Clean Act?

(Morally wrong is ok no matter how serious it is! says the Minister in Parliament)

Remember the quote – “it looks like me, it sounds like me but it is not me” from a character called VK Lingam? Well, there are no limits to what Malaysian politicians can do to stop such stupid statements.

Movie Review: Walk the Line 2005

walk the line movie

Over the weekends, I watched two movies back to back – one was “The Lost City” starring and directed by Andy Garcia and another was “Walk the Line” starring Joaquin Phoenix. Image source: IMDB

I have heard about Johnny Cash but never bothered to listen to his songs – I guess it is an oldie for me but the movie “Walk the Line” changed my whole perception about the man and the music from the ’60s onwards.
