Windows Vista on XP

Reading on “Transform XP to Vista” post by Arul, reminded me of another way for having a Vista skin on a XP. Maybe it does not have the “full” features of the tool that Arul is talking but it is a good start until the real Vista goes on full production.

The above is done using Window Blinds version 5.0 software (demo version last for 60 days) and a brilliant Vista skin by Arin (Google it for the URL). There are others designers who tried to come up with Vista skin but the one from Arin seems to be best todate.

It looks more fun to be working on the computer with the Vista skin on.

  1. The windows blinds software appears to lack the transparency / opacity filter (called “glass” by windows dev’s) so possibly a combination of the windows blinds with this one would work? If someone tries it and makes it work let everyone know.

  2. If you have Windows XP, why do you use linux?
Basically I dont see any advantages to using linux over windows xp, Im dual booting windows
and ubuntu. Ubuntu is nice and all but I dont see anything that would make me prefer it
over windows. The only thing i have been using ubuntu for is web browsing playing
music/movies (cant play games) which I can do better/hassle free in windows.
So what are the advantages of l using linux over xp?

  3. Well, Weston – the reason I switched over to Ubuntu was due to the problems I was facing with Windows XP. Linux is more “leaner” than Windows, using less disc space. It however has a big problem when it comes to playing games. The choices are very limited indeed.
