The trip to Sekinchan is actually our first trip outside of our usual safe zone namely sibling and relative house since the COVID19 pandemic started. It was also one of the few trips that will take us a day to go and come back home and yet still be able to do some activities. It is cheaper as we don’t have to book any accommodations so we can use the cash for something else.

It was the last day of the Deepavali week and at the very last minute, we decided to take a break away from home and go for a short drive out of the town to Sekinchan. Before that, we were considering several options for a quick, one day drive which included Sepang Gold Coast but Sekinchan which is famous for the lush green paddy field, fisherman village and great seafood restaurants seems to be a better place to go.

On this date, 30 years in November 1991, the movie starring Rajinikanth and Mammootty titled “Thalapathi” was released and it became one of the biggest blockbusters for Mani Ratnam who wrote and directed the movie. After months of inter-state travel restrictions, the Government had finally allowed inter-state travel effective from 11th October 2021 after the target 90% vaccination had been achieved. Fortunately, the benefit of interstate travel is not open to those who have not been fully vaccinated. Whilst it is good that businesses have picked up due to the ease of interstate travel, one hopes that the strict SOP continued to be followed.

(Frankly speaking and in my personal opinion, the best main battle tank or MBT out there is Israel’s Merkava MBT which came into service in the late 1970s and has gone through substantial improvement over the years.
