This majestic species has reached a recorded height of 100.8 meters, with the tallest known specimen located in the pristine rainforests of the Danum Valley Conservation Area in , East Malaysia. The Yellow Meranti is a member of the Dipterocarpaceae family, a dominant group of trees in Southeast Asian rainforests.
