Why I Love Living in Malaysia By Darren Cronian

YouTube player

It is interesting on how sometimes we missed looking at Malaysia until someone from outside talks about it. The same was when you see parts of Malaysia shown in some Bollywood song scene and then you realise that the places that you watched is the same place you pass by everyday to work.

Favourite Hindi Song 101: Aao Na by Shankar Ehsaan Loy 2004

hindi

I am seriously hooked up with Aao Na from the Hindi movie Kyun! Ho Gaya Na (2004) – I heard the movie bombed in the box office but the soundtrack is classic especially for me, this one particular song. In fact it is running on a non-stop loop on my Hindi playlist even as I am drafting this post. Image source: www.bollywoodhungama.com

Blogging 101: Which is Better – Frequent Short Post or Infrequent Long Post?

post

Ever since I moved to my own site, I have been trying to be “more consistent” with my post of contents. Image source: elitecopywriter.com

In a way, it is a good thing because I am forced to be on my toe to look out for contents for the blog – fortunately there is no lack of source for the content, from current news, photos, my dreams and travels.

Economy 101: Bailout of RM10.3 Billion: Where is Your Dignity Now?

bailout

Whenever the Government announces huge bailouts, 2 things are certain on everyone’s mind:-

ONE: It does not matter if it is cash, guarantee or promises on paper, one way or another, at the end of the day, taxpayers will be forced to bear the cost of the . that could have been used more productively for development of the country now goes down the drain.

TWO: Not all of the board of directors, management and senior officers who mismanaged the company will be arrested, stripped naked of their assets and sent to jail for years. At the most, some of them may be asked to tender their resignation without any punishment and some of them will be transferred to another GLC. And since there is no severe punishment given, the incompetence and mismanagement continues.

National Security 2020: Why the Red Carpet to These Terrorists?

terrorist

In a galaxy far, far away, these rebels including the beautiful Princess Leia would have been tagged as in the eyes of the Empire. I am sure many would protest. So what defines someone as a terrorist? Someone who been brainwashed with a twisted interpretation of religion and race and kills innocent people? Or is it someone who has taken up armed resistance to a rogue occupation or an evil dictator? Image source: Starwars.com.

Blogging 101: 5 Fascinating Mistakes Discovered With Self Hosted WordPress

wordpress

I have been blogging on WordPress.com site since 2007 (earlier since 2005 in Blogger.com) and since it is a free site where certain things cannot be done or limited (like installing , monetization of the site, etc), all I had to worry about back then was ensuring that I had good content for the blog post. Image source: WordPress.org.

Seriously back then terminologies like SEO, AMP, Fast Website Loading, Caching, Backups, etc was basically sounded alien to me. Well not true exactly, I had some idea on some of the concepts as I have seen the same at my workplace but it was clear that using the free .com site, there was nothing much I could play around on this.

National Security 2019: Treat Water Pollution as Terrorist Attack!!

pollution

& to consumers is not new – the above was back in October 2016 when it was discovered that a toxic solvent had been dumped into a tributary of a river that flows into the Sungai plant. Earlier this month, the plant was shut down due to “odor pollution”.

On Sept 23, it was closed due to from Sungai Lalang near the Semenyih Hitech area, and a day earlier, it was shut down due to contamination believed to be from an illegal factory along Jalan Sungai Lalang. Image source: The Star

Considering how water pollution is causing hardship to the consumers in this country and the level of punishment is not enough to stop pollution from recurring (and causing water supply disruptions), we need to treat all these polluters as and water pollution in particular as a determined terrorist attack.

Driving Skills 101: Driving on the Wrong Side of Road

Wrong Side of the Road

(Another car on the wrong side of the road – this was from 2017 where a 21-year-old man was killed when a BMW, travelling against the traffic, rammed into his Perodua MyVi at Jalan Tun Razak near the National Library. Photo source: NST)

There was a time when I drive to work; there is a road that leads from the office to the main road leading into the Federal Highway. This is a known choke point and pretty much crawling at peak hours. So once the right side of the lane jammed up, impatient drivers will then start driving on the wrong side of the road to bypass the traffic and make illegal entry to the main road, compounding the traffic jam at this point. I lost count of the times when I will turn into this slip road only to face off with drivers driving on the wrong side of the road.
