There has been a huge spike in virus infection in recent days. The 2019-nCoV virus (now known as COVID-19) situation as at 13th February 2020: 1,489 dead, 6,984 recovered and 64,268 confirmed cases. Since 8th February 2020, the number of deaths has increased by another 675 deaths.
Compared to 8th February 2020, the fatality rate as of 13th February 2020 had increased from 2.17% to 2.32% but the recovery rate had improved from 7.77% to 10.87%. The number of confirmed cases in Malaysia unfortunately had also increased from 16 cases to 19 confirmed cases but without any fatality (Singapore also saw an increase from 40 to 58 cases todate). Unfortunately since a hand shake needs the touching of the hands, this unfortunately facilitates the human to human virus transmission. Remember the first Malaysian who got coronavirus after some business meeting in Singapore? He may have been hand shaking too many people and somehow got infected with coronavirus instead.

The 2019-nCoV virus situation as at 5th February 2020: 564 dead, 1,124 recovered and 27,619 confirmed cases. Since 3rd February 2020, the number of deaths has increased by another 138 deaths.
Compared to 3rd February 2020, the fatality rate as at 5th February 2020 had continued to reduce from 2.14% to 2.04% and as well as the recovery rate from 3.13% to 4.07%. The 2019-nCoV virus situation as of 3rd February 2020: 426 dead, 623 recovered and 19,881 confirmed cases. Since 31st January 2020, the number of deaths has increased by another 167 deaths.
Compared to 31st January 2020, the fatality rate as of 3rd February 2020 had reduced from 2.28% to 2.14% whilst there has a good improvement in the recovery rate from 2.22% to 3.13%. The 2019-nCoV virus situation as at 30th January 2020: 171 dead, 143 recovered and 8,236 confirmed cases (the latest statistics – 213 dead and 9,480 confirmed cases).
Compared to 28th January 2020, the fatality rate as at 30th January 2020 had reduced from 2.18% to 2.07% which is good but then again, the recovery rate had also reduced from 1.82% to 1.74%. I woke up this morning reading breaking news that 7 years old child in Johore had died due to influenza like illness and this was after she was initially tested negative for H1N1. It was shocking, scary and a tragedy indeed.
It was a well-known fact that music improves productivity and in particular at for me, the sound of heavy rain and distance thunder.
Whenever I am going to work on some deep, complex issues that need me to check sheets over sheets of spreadsheets and need to add formulas all of the place, I will put on the headphones and put my favourite collection of music so that I can focus.
