KTMB operates a number of locomotives manufactured by different manufacturers & countries and one of the most modern ones would be the slick 19 units of Class 93, Electric Intercity and Komuter trains manufactured by CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive, China. It is capable of achieving speeds up to 180 kilometres per hour although my recent experience had the train running at a moderately slow speed. Image source: Wikipedia.

Public Transportation 101: How Easy & Convenient To Use Public Transport Now?

Whilst Malaysia does have a very good and integrated public transportation system, there is something missing to connect the remote and far away suburbs with the main public transportation hubs in the country. Doing long-distance rides on a bicycle is nothing new in Western countries but it is rather rare in these parts of the world where proper touring bicycles are very expensive, the infrastructure and roads are bad and personal safety is a big issue.

Documentary 101: PBS Frontline – Boeing’s Fatal Flaw 2021

On 14th September 2021, PBS Frontline ran an excellent documentary on Boeing’s series of shocking mishandling & process failure in the manufacturing of the new 737-Max passenger plane. The trigger point was the introduction of the new Airbus A320neo and the delay of Boeing’s next model, the 787 Dreamliner. Image source: PRNewsfoto/Boeing

There was tremendous pressure to bring the new plane into the market in time to counter Airbus’ A320Neo plane. In the end, a software glitch caused 2 major accidents that saw 346 passengers & crew died, Boeing & airlines suffered substantial financial losses due to glitch & grounded planes and caused the chairman & CEO, Dennis Muilenburg his job.

Lockdown in Malaysia 2021: Not A Big Surprise, MCO 2.0 Was Highly Expected

On 11th January 2021, the Prime Minister announced a stricter movement control order (MCO) for 6 states namely Wilayah and Selangor which encompasses ban on inter-state and inter-district. And a day after the MCO was announced and was due to take place, Malaysia recorded the highest number of COVID19 cases at 3,309 cases (on 14th, we set a new record with 3,337 new cases and 15 deaths).
