(This is at the end of 2011, given the right conditions, shots taken with Nokia N8 can be damn good too. Click for higher resolution photos here)

(The very common image of the A Famosa fort in Malacca – something we have seen since we were kids but I has always wondered what is in the inside? What happens if one walks past the famed entrance? Will we be transported to another era? The entrance close up – it looks clean but rather very narrow. Perhaps it was meant to be so 400-500 years ago when the narrow entrance was easier to be defended against weaker rebels)

(My very first food in my Shanghai trip – I opted for something familiar, rice and chicken with beans and cold salad. It was good but I then realized my mistake – the weather was cold but the food was not warm enough. No wonder others were having the hot bowl of noodles and soup)

(Still, remember the audacity of Africans to fight the local authorities in Mantin? Does it not count as a serious threat to national security? Image source)
Whilst we welcome genuine Africans students to come over and get their higher education to better themselves and their country, we do not want criminals in disguise as students to come over and start creating problems and commit serious crimes here. And regrettably, the number of the menace caused by these Africans seems to be on a worrying trend.

(I have done up Part 3 of the trip to Oriental Paris but that post on India’s Got Talent has to wait for this classic – it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen in Youtube)

(Seeing Sivaji Ganesan in action is one thing but seeing the two of them could be a double whammy. Both interacted well on screen but still, there are some limitations as to how both characters blended in on-screen in the old movies when the special effects were still in it’s infant. (The trip from the airport and towards the city centre – it is a long straight road which meant our taxi was “flying” and despite the taxi slowing down at certain places where I saw automated enforcement system, it still felt fast all the way until we reached the city)

(As I said before, it does not matter if a motorcyclist is riding a 50cc bike or a 1500 cc bike. When the motorcyclist fall, the head and skin suffer the same. No matter what one rides, proper riding attire is a must. Image source: http://www.ridesafebacksafe.co.uk)
In case you missed it, this was in the news a couple of days ago:-
About RM9bil, or two percent of the Gross Domestic Product of RM528bil in 2010, is lost annually from accidents.
Kong said, based on police statistics, the death rate among motorists and passengers from January to September this year had dropped 4.2 percent compared to last year.
“For pedestrians, it dropped by 14.6 percent, bus drivers and passengers, five percent, while for van drivers and passengers, 24.1 percent,” he said.
However, he said the death rate for the motorcyclist and pillion rider category had gone up by 5.4 percent.

(The flight was full but I was looking forward to the trip with a good selection of on-demand movies to kill the time. MAS’ inflight service and food was tip-top as usual, something that holds an edge over other airlines)

(When it comes to flight, I must admit, Changi is one well-managed airport with plenty of signage to ensure everyone knows where to go – provided you know English. Price of items sold at the airport is at the high side though. But I guess the most unsettling thing at the airport is seeing young girls walking around with sidearms – I am sure they are well trained on firearms and tactics but still, it is very unsettling.
