Delicious Food in Cape Verde – Part 2 (Lunch)

Read Part 1 (Breakfast) here

Lunch

(Cape Verde is blessed with abundance of sea food especially tuna for lunch which we can get in a bigger chunks here compared to in Malaysia. The vegetables however is nothing to shout about – we can get better vegetables here in Malaysia)

One of the key SOP when we are working at customer’s site is that firstly we minimize time taken for lunch and secondly we break into 2 teams so that there is always someone around during lunch time.

To ensure we go for lunch fast and back, we decided that it needs to be somewhere nearby (which meant within walking distance), clean (no point having team members on sick leave), a good selection of food (it should not be boring) and if possible, the restaurant staff need to know some level of English.

For lunch, after surveying around & talking to the locals, we basically short listed 3 options (actually there were 4 but last one was not viable as we need transportation to the restaurant and need to be there early, otherwise the food would be sold out).

National Security 2019: Treat Water Pollution as Terrorist Attack!!

pollution

Water pollution & water disruption to consumers is not new – the above was back in October 2016 when it was discovered that a toxic solvent had been dumped into a tributary of a river that flows into the Sungai Semenyih water treatment plant. Earlier this month, the plant was shut down due to “odor pollution”.

On Sept 23, it was closed due to contamination from Sungai Lalang near the Semenyih Hitech area, and a day earlier, it was shut down due to contamination believed to be from an illegal factory along Jalan Sungai Lalang. Image source: The Star

Considering how water pollution is causing hardship to the consumers in this country and the level of punishment is not enough to stop pollution from recurring (and causing water supply disruptions), we need to treat all these polluters as terrorists and water pollution in particular as a determined terrorist attack.

Firefighter Adib Tragedy: The Verdict is Out

Adib

(Adib’s death – is this supposed to be the result of temple going, God fearing devotees? Why there was danger to fire fighters when the peace loving devotees suppose to help the fire fighters to do their job? Photo Source: NST)

It was a tragedy that should not have ever happened to a fire fighter

Who is in sound mind would have wanted to injured (in this case killed) a fire fighter rushing in to put a fire? Only a senseless evil person would have wanted to do that. Coroner’s Court on last Friday after 41 days of inquest proceeding concluded that the death of the fireman was due to “two or more persons unknown”

We need to buy more of this excellent fire bomber in the near future – wild fires & man made fires is expected to compound the environment for many years to come. We need to have the right tools and trained resources to put out the fire before it becomes a national crisis. And given the source of haze is from Indonesia, they need to have more fire bombers in their inventory.

IT 2017 – Disheartened Scenes

Read These First:-

IT

(If you have read the IT, the novel, the clown known as Pennywise The Dancing Clown is actually an alien – a shape shifting monster ended up on prehistoric Earth during an asteroid impact and made its home under the land and would sleep for approximately 27 to 30 years at a time, using its time awake to wreak chaos and feed on human fear. IT came out in 2017…

Had anyone watched the evil clown movie called IT?

This horror movie came out in 2017 – I had wanted to watch it in theater back then but I did not have any chance and over time I had forgotten about it. Then last week, I managed to catch this movie and I now know why people got scared of clowns (more sighting happened in US before this movie came out). Seeing a clown with a red balloon standing in front of you did would have sent a shiver down anyone’s spine. It is worst if you (like me) prefer watching this movie late at night, expecting the unexpected.

Delicious Food in Cape Verde (Breakfast) – Part 1

Starting off the next part of the trip to Cape Verde series – I am starting off random posts on food and let’s start off with breakfast as that was the first meal we had the next day after we had checked in the hotel.

Food

As earlier mentioned, the dining area of the hotel was rather small – probably 6 small tables that could accommodate 15 – 18 people (sometimes even less). The tables for the food and drinks also took space in the dining area.
